Endel Aims at Growing in the Other Sectors Along With White Goods
Operating in Turkey and Europe, and producing for the significant white goods brands as the subsidiary industry; Endel Industrial Products Group aims at growing in the sectors of automotive, rail systems and defence; and manufactures at 5 plants, two are in Eskişehir, and the rest are in Ankara, Gebze and Manisa.
Stating that, as Endel Corporate Group, they predicted sectorial focusing in 2005, Endel Industrial Products Group President Ş. Burak Özaydemir has said: “As the group, we produce in two business lines. One of them is the subsidiary industry activities, also called as industrial products, and the other one is the tile and roof products, also called as construction materials. We continue producing in the line of Construction Materials, with the brands Kılıçoğlu and Megaron. We manufacture for the industries of automotive, rail systems and defence, mainly white goods, in the line of Industrial Products Group”.
Underlining that, as the subsidiary industry, they are in a very significant position in Turkey; Özaydemir has stated that they produce for most of the substantial white goods companies in both Turkey and Europe. Özaydemir has announced that they work for transferring their experience in white goods to other sectors and they have succeeded; and he has added: “As Endel Industrial Products Group, we have recently planned using our subsidiary industry activities out of the white goods sector as well. We have carried out an evaluation and set our targets with the thought that both our technology and products in the white goods sector could be evaluated in other sectors as well, and the experiences in those sectors could provide benefits for the white goods sector. We have observed that, in addition to the white goods sector, we are able to take place in automotive and rail systems, and some tools such as technical tools, tractors and construction machines with our solutions. We have agreed that we can gather our current experiences in cable grouping and tubing, and coating; and we can transfer them to these fields. After deciding on the sectors, we have started preparing for the needs of certification and infrastructure. We have installed TS 16949 management system, the standard of the automotive sector, in all of our companies. We have applied this system on all the processes without discriminating as white goods or automotive. After completing the certifications, we have made contacts with the automotive companies. Following the long approval and project periods, we have started working for mass production in the automotive sector”.
Indicating that the approval processes in the automotive sector last long, and they enter the sector by completing all the processes; Özaydemir has informed that they operate in the rail systems sector as well. Özaydemir has added: We supply the cable groups in the tail lamps of E Coupe, the new model of Mercedes. This project was put into use at the end of 2 years of process, and brought very significant experiences. Because it has been the first project, we had to focus seriously. It has been an important success story for us. We aim at experiencing a similar success story by supplying the hydraulic system cable groups of the Cabrio model of Aston Martin in our other plant. We are at the last part of the mass production phase. We have started working in the industry of rail systems with the national locomotive company Tülomsaş in Eskişehir. We supply tubing systems to our customer producing the metro of Ankara. We have supplied all tubing accessories of the GE locomotives produced in Tülomsaş by General Electric in addition to making a capacity investment with the support of the Development Agency BEBKA; thus, we have increased our competence. Therefore, as the Industrial Products, we are becoming a structure operating in different sectors of the international environment. We have taken certain steps, but we set new targets continuously.”
The Company to Establish an R & D Center
Stating that they think the technical competences will lead the competition of the future, and they plan to establish an R & D center; Özaydemir has added: “We aim at growing seriously in all the sectors we operate. We plan to maintain our position of leadership in the sector of white goods, and make it international with various export projects. We aim at putting an R & D center into use in the near future in order to strengthen our infrastructure technically. We believe this center will support our technical works”.
Expressing that they set the target for balancing the white goods sector and other sectors in their growth strategy, Burak Özaydemir has said: “We need to serve the customers closer, this is why we consider investing abroad; but our pre-feasibility studies on this issue are still in process. We have the opportunity to analyze the examples abroad during our business trips. In case we have opportunities both in Turkey and abroad, we plan to use them and make new investments”.
